She stepped into the role in July, working alongside AARNet CISO Charles Sterner and Director Customer Relations Angus Griffin
AARNet has appointed former Western Sydney University Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Nadia Taggart to the newly created role of Director, Cyber Security Strategic Development.
She stepped into the role in July, working alongside AARNet CISO Charles Sterner and Director Customer Relations Angus Griffin to further enhance AARNet’s suite of cyber security services for the research and education sector.
Prior to her role at Western Sydney University, Taggart led cyber security operations at the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) Parliament House. She also gained diverse experience working in cyber operations and engagement roles in other federal government agencies.
“I’m excited to join the AARNet team and help build on the work AARNet is doing to deliver a sector-focused security operations centre and other cyber security services,” Taggart said. “Universities have unique needs for cyber security and AARNet, as the sector’s long-standing network and infrastructure partner, is well-placed to meet them.”
