AARNet has joined an initiative supported by the Internet Society that aims to improve the security and resilience of the global routing system.
Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) provides crucial fixes to reduce the most common routing threats including route hijacking, route leaks, and IP address spoofing.
AARNet joins other members including a further ten research and education networks in Europe, the US and China, as well as numerous commercial providers.
Warrick Mitchell, Network Architect, explained that AARNet’s participation in MANRS reflects its ongoing commitment to routing security.
